The SPK-2020 Portable Tire Deflation Spike Strip delivers fast, dependable field performance for traffic management and police operations. Operators can fully extend the spike array with a single press of the wireless remote control button, featuring an accordion-style expansion mechanism that deploys in near-instant time.
Law enforcement staff can deploy and retract the spikes from a secure, safe distance. The ultra-quick full extension paired with an extra-wide coverage footprint drastically reduces the chance fleeing suspects can swerve around the device. Once tires are punctured, one quick tap on the wireless remote retracts the entire unit immediately, clearing the roadway for pursuit units and general traffic.
The unit uses heavy-duty hollow steel spikes that pierce every common tire type, including self-sealing and run-flat tires, releasing air at a steady, controlled pace. This regulated air loss eliminates sudden tire blowouts and gradually slows the suspect's vehicle to a safe traveling speed, allowing for a smooth, controlled stop.
